South East Regional Competition Statement

The South East Regional Competition confirms that Narre North Foxes were found to have exceeded the maximum number of players allowed on the playing surface in last weekend’s U17 Boys South East Regional Competition match against Cranbourne.

A formal process has been undertaken, following a request from Cranbourne post-match to review the available footage, consistent with the rules which governs and allows for ‘Post-Match Reviews’.

This matter was then referred to an independent investigation, which has upheld South East Regional Board decision that Narre North Foxes had breached the maximum number of players permitted on the playing surface.

South East Regional Board through the findings and recommendations determined the most appropriate sanction for this breach was for the match result to be reversed. This decision was based on seriousness of the breach, the time of the game in which the breach occurred (late in the final quarter), and the substantial time in which the breach occurred for (close to 10 minutes).

As a result, Narre North Foxes’ victory was overturned, and Cranbourne JFC were awarded the match.
